We have found that a lot of AskmyGP requests, that are entered out of hours, resolve themselves before a GP contacts the patient. This wastes a lot of GP time. To address this, we are closing AskmyGP to new requests from 4.30PM each working day. New requests can be logged from 5.30AM until 4.30PM on a weekday. If you require medical attention from a GP over the weekend, please call 111 (or 999 for emergencies). If you have an urgent medical need after 4.30PM on a weekday, please call the surgery.
Please note, we are very busy on a Monday and may need to reply later in the week where your request is non-urgent. Please: only use this service to consult with a GP or to leave an administrative query; be available to take a call / attend on the day that you use AskmyGP, and regularly check your emails for any responses. Nurse / HCA appointments need to be booked by phone. Please use the NHS app / Patient Access to request repeat medications.
Please be aware that your GP is seeing unprecedented demand at the moment. We still have staff needing to self isolate and consultations are taking far longer due to Covid 19 precautions. We are asking patients to consider all self-help options before contacting us. Please visit NHS website or Pharmacist for new minor ailments. Our website has links to mental health support helplines. One You S Glos can help with healthier living advice. Please only contact us after you have explored self-help options and bear with us if we to ask you to wait for a response as we will be prioritising patients who are acutely unwell and suffering from more serious conditions. Thank you
