Relationships & Sexuality

This section focuses on the role of interpersonal, social and community factors on health. It was John Donne (1572-1631) who said "no man is an island", and this is certainly true when it comes to health and illness. Our experience of health and illness is closely bound up many other people including our parents, the generations before them and also the quality of the relationships that we have in our lives and the communities that we belong to.

Illness does not really occur in isolation from other people. It's cause is often connected with other people, illness will often affect other people close to us and other people people may have a major influence on our recovery.

This part of the site draws together resources that relate to interpersonal, social and community factors and health - including sexual and contraception.
